Getting to Tomten

Located near Sapporo city, New Chitose International Airport is approximately 2 hours’ drive from Hirafu town, Niseko’s busiest hub.

 

Bus

 

Tomten recommends several reliable coach services between New Chitose Airport and the Hirafu Welcome Centre, where a Tomten representative will be waiting to whisk you to your accommodation.

 

Bus times are scheduled to meet all major international and connecting flights, and Tomten Guest Services will ensure you are booked on a service that suits your arrival time. Bus transportation takes approximately 2.5 hours.

 

Hokkaido Resort Liner

 

Price: TBC SEP 2018 – ¥4,000 Adult and ¥3,000 Child 2017-18 One Way Rates
Travel time: 2.5 – 3hrs
Notes: Rest stop at Bifue pass, and stops at Rusutsu Resort between New Chitose Airport and Niseko area. Guests cannot journey between Niseko and Rusutsu only on this service. Service will not stop at Rusutsu Resort with prior booking.

Train

 

The New Chitose train station is located on the ground floor of the airport complex. The station offers a multi-lingual help desk and ticket machines with English options, where you can buy a ticket to Kutchan station for ¥2,630.

 

Guests will be asked to transfer at Otaru station in order to board the final leg of their journey to Kutchan station.

 

On arrival at Kutchan station, taxis are usually available near the front entrance, with a taxi office opposite the station.
Your Tomten Guest Services Representative can assist to arrange a taxi for the approximately 15-minute journey from Kutchan station to Tomten Lodge once you have arrived, however it is typically faster to book direct with Taxi Caller app or hop into a waiting taxi outside of the station entrance.

Getting around Niseko

Tomten is located within easy strolling distance of Annupuri’s main dining and nightlife rea. Several transportation options are available for those travelling to neighbouring Grand Hirafu or elusive restaurants.

 

Taxi

Several taxi transfer companies operate within Hirafu, and due to high demand in peak hours and language barriers it is advisable to ask Tomten to reserve a car for you in advance. It is possible to book Sprint Taxi directly through their easy-to-use Taxi Caller app (link below).

Bus

Whether you’re heading to one of Niseko’s celebrated restaurants, setting off on a non-ski adventure or just fancy a little shopping, there’s probably a bus that can take you there. Tomten staff are highly knowledgeable about local transportation and are happy to help you with timetables and directions.

 

Niseko United Shuttle

Hanazono Shuttle Bus

Departing approximately every 30 minutes, this service carries passengers between Hirafu and Hanazono ski resorts. More information: Hanazono Shuttle Bus Timetable

 

Kutchan Night Go Bus

Keen to grab a few groceries or check out one of Kutchan’s many enticing restaurants? Jump aboard the Kutchan Night Go Bus. The service departs regularly from the Hirafu Welcome Centre, the Hirafu Intersection and the Hirafu Gondola.
